Timer/Announcer Duties
Work with the Pre-Staging Judge to see if paperwork is ready for distribution to the judges.
Receive paperwork from Pre-Staging Judge in 2 batches:
1. the team's Style elements, Documentation, Lists, any Clarifications
2. the Staging Area Checklist, Materials Cost Form, Outside Assistance Form, etc.
Ask Pre-Staging Judge if there are any items that should incur a penalty. If so, inform Head Judge.
Distribute Style forms to Style Judges
Distribute any Documentation, the List, and any Clarifications to the Problem Judges.
Give Staging Area Checklist, Materials Cost Form, Outside Assistance Form, etc. to the Head Judge.
Inform Head Judge if Pre-Staging Judge feels a penalty is warranted.
After the paperwork has been distributed:
Greet the Team and its Coaches in the pre-staging area. Introduce yourself.
Interview the team according to the questions asked on the Staging Area Checklist.
Tell Coaches to pick up team's raw score from Head Judge. Identify Head Judge.
Direct the Coaches to find seats that have been set aside for them in the audience.
Bring the Team into the staging area. Show them the line beyond which they cannot go till it's time for their performance.
Ask judges if they are ready for the next team. Problem Judges may not be ready for a while. They have many elements to score and work furiously!
At the appointed time according to the schedule, go to the performance area to introduce the team according to the prepared script. (See Timer-Announcer Script)
Time the team with the stopwatch provided. Tell the judges if the team went over the time limit.
After the performance, thank the Coaches for their efforts.
Remind the Coaches to return to pick up the team's raw scores from the Head Judge.
When the judges have finished interviewing the team, show the team where the exit is.
Go to the Pre-Staging Area Judge to see if the next team's paperwork is ready for distribution to the judges.
Repeat the process…All day!
Work to keep your site on schedule!
Have a great day!!! You will be wowed by a lot of stuff you see! Enjoy it.
